What is a Just As Yourself game? Better yet, what is a game? At JAY Games™, we believe that a game is something that anyone - regardless of experience - can pick up and enjoy at any time and in any location.
Why? Because let’s face it - life sucks, and Play is one of the many things that make the binary of order and chaos interesting. In fact, it’s one of the only things that can do that without leading to detrimental physical health impacts!
Just As Yourself games are about being Just As Yourself, where anyone, regardless of skill or familiarity, can be themselves and enjoy a story. At JAY Games, we combine the probability of d20 rolls with the streamlined nature of playbook-driven tabletop role-play games (TTRPGs) all while simplyfing attack (and other... special) rolls with the simplicity of a d6. Oh, and we took out 90% of the math, too!
Just As Yourself games are run best as one-shots that last anywhere from 4-6 hours for 4 Players. Longer sessions with up to 6 Players, or two-shots with 4 Players, can also be run using the Just As Yourself system. This is left entirely up to the Meddah - the Game Master - based on real-world time constraints and engagement of Players with the story.
